Bacterial Vaginosis Associated With Preterm Delivery

Arch Fam Med. 1999;8:256.

Bacterial vaginosis is associated with preterm delivery. Treatment with metronidazole and erythromycin was associated with a significant decrease in the number of preterm births (39% vs 57%). The women were checked for bacterial vaginosis at about 23 weeks of gestation. (N Engl J Med. 1995;333:1732-1736.)
