Arch Fam Med. 1999;8:439.
Phenytoin, carbamazepine, and phenobarbital can lead to anticonvulsant hypersensitivity syndrome, with fever, rash, lymphadenopathy, and multisystem abnormalities. If detected early and medication stopped, fatality may be prevented. (Arch Intern Med. 1995;155:2285-2290.)
