Abstract

Teachers in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, are negotiating for a cost-of-living clause based on their current, indexed salary scale, instead of asking for a fixed dollar boost in that basic scale. They are willing to accept both the ups and downs of the Consumer Price Index and believe the taxpayers will recognize this as an honest act of good faith bargaining.
