Abstract
This article reports on an effort to estimate statistically the salary influence of professional negotiations conducted in the absence of statutory sanctions. Regression estimates based on 1973-74 cross-sectional data from a sample of 292 Arkansas public school districts do not suggest a significant role for teacher negotiations in the salary determination process. The presence of a written agreement does not appear to offer any negotiating advantage for local teacher organizations. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
