Abstract:

The pharmacy curriculum is changing to prepare future practitioners for expanded roles in patient care. Model pharmacies, like those utilized in dispensing laboratories, are a logical part of the educational process. This article describes how a well-maintained model pharmacy reinforces what students learn in other courses. It also lists addresses and current contact persons at pharmaceutical manufacturers which provide model pharmacy stock for instructional purposes. Basic guidelines for requests are also described.
