The purpose of this book is to describe and illustrate minor surgical procedures that are appropriately performed in an office setting. Although written for the general practitioners of Great Britain, this volume will be valuable for family physicians anywhere in the world.

As we in primary care strive for more cost-effective health care delivery and hold to our basic tenet of providing comprehensive care, more office-based surgical procedures are being performed. Dr Sodera describes and illustrates over 160 procedures. These run the gamut from simply tying a suture around a pedunculated skin tag to excising a skin cancer or performing an emergency tracheostomy.

This book is comprehensive and describes in detail the surgical expertise required, the type of surgical suite and furnishings needed, and the basic surgical instruments and equipment one will use in carrying out some or all of these procedures.
