While Karnak would not necessarily say, "Everything you ever wanted to know is in this book," there is no question that as a pocket-sized, quick reference, this small book provides a wealth of information. This resource should facilitate the busy clinician's expert management of a large variety of cardiovascular conditions. With chapters by respected leaders in the field, including Norman Kaplan, MD, on "Hypertension," Carl Pepine, MD, on "Angina Pectoris," and Antonio Gotto, MD, on "Dyslipidemias," this book could be considered the Cliff Notes of cardiovascular medicine. This abridged text is less than half the cost and size of its parent, Essentials of Cardiovascular Medicine, which has expanded reviews on the topics contained in this manual.
