						<Abstract Language="En">This paper examines the employee consultation program of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The program, an alternative to collective bargaining, currently is beset by various internal tensions. The source of these tensions is discussed in light of past Canadian experience with consultation systems of a similar nature. The authors conclude that unless modifications are introduced in the R.C.M.P.'s program, members are likely to turn to collective bargaining.</Abstract>
