						<Abstract Language="En">Virginia is one of only twelve states never to have experienced a public school teacher's strike. The Virginia Education Association has threatened many times to engage in militant activities to secure teacher demands, but such threats have never been carried out. The present study investigated the possible relationship between job satisfaction/union attitudes and the predisposition of teachers to engage in militant activities. The evidence indicates a strong sense of dissatisfaction prevalent among Virginia teachers. The fact that no strike has ever taken place in the state seems to be the lack predisposition by teachers to engage in union-like activities as shown by their nonfavorable union-like activities as shown by their nonfavorable union attitude scores.</Abstract>
