Abstract
This article reports the results of a study conducted during the spring of 1983 in three California districts among some 450 teachers at ten different school sites. Each district had a history of collective bargaining dating back to 1976. A path model and analysis of variance were used in order to discover the attributes of labor relations associated with a high trust, cooperative bargaining relationship. The results show that teachers perceptions of responsible administration and successful unions were linked to the proposition that both were actively seeking answers to pressing educational problems. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
