Abstract
The authors reviewed 266 cases of advisory arbitration in Illinois between 1972 and 1975 to determine the issues arbitrated, representations, winners and losers, and whether awards were rejected at the state level. The views of the employee groups using the procedure are also discussed. The authors conclude that the Illinois procedure produces results similar to binding arbitration. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
