In this article, a system dynamics model is developed for environmental impact analysis of a coalfield. The model is simulated for a period of 20 years assuming that existing conditions will prevail in the future. This is the Basic Scenario. Alternative pollution control measures are tested for their viability by generating alternative scenarios and comparing them with the Basic Scenario. K.
