<Abstract Language="En">
The design, construction, and calibration of the PINY Environmental Wind Tunnel is described, in addition to a discussion of the basic simulation requirements which led to the configuration and nominal test conditions.

The tunnel is an open circuit, closed test section facility with the capability of simulating the atmospheric mean wind profile and density distribution to an altitude of 2000 ft. It has a test section of 4 X 5 X 20 feet and a nominal velocity range between 0.25 and 35 fps. In the "clean" condition it can also be utilized for the more conventional testing of vehicle configurations.
</Abstract>
