Recognition of man's increasing power to affect his environment has resulted in formulation of mathematical models to describe physicochemical-biological interactions. Stochastic theory can be applied to deterministic models of eutrophication to include consideration of the inherent variability of biological responses. A conceptual model format for this stochastic simulation is presented.
