Expression of human apoE4 by astrocytes results in an isoform-dependent effect on Aβ deposition. Expression of human apoE4 (B) and apoE3 (C) recapitulates the anatomical distribution of Aβ deposition seen in APP^V717F transgenic mice expressing murine apoE (A). Significantly more Aβ deposition, however, is associated with murine apoE (murine apoE>>>human E4>>human E3). Adapted from (43).
