Conclusions: Vascular dementia can increase the risk of developing TTC following anxiety-inducing life events. Antidepressants and hyponatraemia play a role in precipitating TTC as well as its recurrence, which needs to be considered when treating these patients for psychiatric comorbidities.</p>
