      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">&lt;p&gt;Thromben in der Aorta descendens sind eine seltene, aber gefährliche Ursache sowohl viszeraler als auch peripherer Embolien. Die optimale Therapie bleibt kontrovers diskutiert. Wir beschreiben ein Fallbeispiel eines vierundvierzig jährigen Patienten, der sich aufgrund embolischer peripherer Verschlüsse präsentiert. Als Ursache zeigt sich ein Thrombus der Aorta descendens. Nach Einlage eines thorakalen endovaskulären Stentgrafts (TEVAR), zeigen sich komplizierend weitere embolische Ereignisse, trotz Medikation mit Thrombozytenaggregationshemmer und oraler Antikoagulation. Anhand des Fallbeispieles werden die aktuell möglichen Therapieoptionen besprochen.&lt;/p&gt;</abstract>
