Abstract
Hemodynamic failure is a common presentation in all acute care settings and it is of great importance to consider rare, but relevant differential diagnoses in order to provide adequate treatment. We describe in a case report the course of a patient, who presented with signs of severe cardiogenic shock caused by an aortocaval fistula. We summarized the variable, sometimes tricky presentation and the importance of this differential diagnosis as a cause of high-output cardiogenic failure for the success of timely interventions.</p>
