      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">&lt;p&gt;Wir beschreiben den Fall einer Patientin mit unerwarteter Ursache eines nicht beherrschbaren Schocks. Die Patientin wurde mit der Verdachtsdiagnose eines Infekts mit einer akuten Niereninsuffizienz, ausgedehntem Aszites und einer schweren Anämie zugewiesen. Die initiale Arbeitshypothese eines septischen Schocks musste im Verlauf revidiert werden, nachdem ein weit fortgeschrittenes, metastasiertes seröses high-grade Karzinom des Ovars mit ausgedehnter Peritonealkarzinomatose und malignem Aszites diagnostiziert wurde.&lt;/p&gt;</abstract>
