La transmission se fait par l’inhalation des aérosols contaminés. La présentation clinique et radiologique ne sont souvent pas spécifiques. Une légionellose doit être suspectée en cas de pneumonie sévère ou en absence de réponse au traitement par béta-lactamines. Le perfectionnement des méthodes diagnostiques a permis une meilleure détection des cas et le début d’un traitement adapté. Les principales classes d’antibiotiques à connaître sont les quinolones et macrolides.</p>
