        <p>In den vergangenen zwei Jahren gab es drei wichtige neue Aspekte bezüglich Diagnostik einer HIV-Infektion:
	Das diagnostische Fenster bei den HIV Tests der 4. Generation wurde von 12 auf 6 Wochen herabgesetzt. Das diagnostische Fenster bei HIV Tests der 3. Generation bleibt weiterhin bei 12 Wochen (1)

	Die Publikumsabgabe von HIV-Selbsttests wurde bewilligt (auch als Heimtest bezeichnet). (2)

	HIV-PCR und insbesondere der GeneXpert Xpert  ®  HIV-1 Viral Load Test soll besonnen eingesetzt werden.



 
Was bedeutet dies nun für die praktische Arbeit? Was sind die Vorteile, wo die Fallstricke und auf worauf müssen wir besonders achten? Darauf gehen wir im Folgenden ein.</p>
