Patienten mit thorakalen Schmerzen sind in der Hausarztpraxis sowie auf Notfallstationen häufig. In vielen Fällen handelt es sich dabei um eine harmlose, muskuloskelettale Ursache, jedoch sollten weitere, potentiell lebensbedrohliche Differenzialdiagnosen (bspw. akutes Koronarsyndrom, Lungenembolie, Aortendissektion) ausgeschlossen werden. Im vorliegenden Fall berichten wir über eine atypische Manifestation einer Aortendissektion in der Hausarztpraxis, welche aufgrund einer thorakalen Hautveränderung initial als Herpes Zoster interpretiert wurde.
