        <p>Dieser Fall illustriert, wie der Kalziumstoffwechsel durch das enge Zusammenspiel zwischen PTH, Vitamin D, Kalzium und Magnesium geregelt wird und daher alle diese Faktoren bei der Abklärung und Therapie von grosser Bedeutung sind. Magnesium als Ursache einer Hypokalzämie ist eine seltene aber wichtige Ursache. Magnesium beeinflusst die Sekretion von PTH, das Ansprechen der Niere und des Knochens auf PTH und den Vitamin D Stoffwechsel. Bei einem Mangesiummangel wird die Sekretion von PTH verhindert, sodass trotz maximaler Stimulation der Nebenschilddrüsen bei einer Hypokalzämie die PTH Sekretion zur Korrektur der Hypokalzämie verhindert wird.</p>
