        <p>Einleitung:
Die Schwangerschaft geht mit einem erhöhten Risiko für venöse Thromboembolien (VTE) einher (ca. 1.2 auf 1000 Geburten). Obwohl die Inzidenz in den letzten Jahrzehnten gesunken ist, sind VTE in der westlichen Welt weiterhin ein führender Grund für mütterliche Morbidität und Mortalität. Prävention, Diagnostik und Therapie thromboembolischer Ereignisse stellen im Kontext der Schwangerschaft eine besondere Herausforderung dar, da nebst dem mütterlichen auch dem fetalen/kindlichen Wohlergehen Rechnung getragen werden muss. Die allgemeinen Empfehlungen zur Therapie von VTE können folgedessen nicht ohne weiteres auf die Population der Schwangeren übertragen werden. Die Richtlinien des American College of Chess Physicians (ACCP) aus dem Jahr 2012 betreffend VTE in der Schwangerschaft wurden durch die neuen American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2018 Guidelines aktualisiert. Dieser Artikel hat zum Ziel, das Wichtigste dieser Guidelines aus dem Kapitel «venous thromboembolism in the context of pregnancy» zusammenzufassen, im Kontext Schweizer Gegebenheiten kritisch zu betrachten und durch alltagsrelevante Zusatzinformationen zu ergänzen.</p>
