        <p>Les recommandations les plus récentes suggèrent de rechercher un déficit en alpha-1-antitrypsine (AAT) dans différentes situations mais notamment chez tout patient avec un syndrome obstructif fixe symptomatique. Une clarification par analyse génétique et/ou immunofocalisation électrique (selon les circonstances) après un dosage sérique de la protéine initial est particulièrement pertinente chez les patients jeunes, lorsque la valeur sérique d’AAT est abaissée ou à la limite inférieure de la norme, en cas d’évolution rapide d’un emphysème ou lors de discordance entre la clinique et la mesure sérique de l’AAT.</p>
