      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">
        <p>Hypersensitivity pneumonitis is a rare, diffuse pulmonary parenchymal disease caused by repetitive inhalation of aerogenic allergens with prior sensitization (1). Symptoms vary widely, which can delay diagnosis and turn into an odyssey for those affected, demonstrated by the case of a patient treated in our clinic.</p>
