        <p>Kristallarthropathien trifft man im Alltag häufig an, insbesondere bei älteren Patienten. Im vorgestellten Fall berichten wir von einer 65-jährigen Frau, welche mit Verdacht auf eine Unterarmphlegmone von ihrem Hausarzt auf die Notfallstation zugewiesen wurde. Ohne erinnerliches Trauma, zeigten sich erhöhte Infektparameter (CRP 60mg/l bei normwertigen Leukozyten). Bei fehlendem Infektfokus erfolgte die Abklärung mittels Röntgen, Computertomografie und Ultraschall. Differentialdiagnostisch musste bei gut abgrenzbarer, strahlendichter Neubildung über dem palmaren Aspekt des Handgelenks an ein tumoröses Geschehen gedacht werden. Intraoperativ zeigten sich kein «greifbarer» Tumor, die Histopathologie bestätigte eine basische Apatitkalzinose. Offen bleibt, ob ein operatives Vorgehen in diesem Fall unumgänglich war. Sicher aber hat die Patientin davon profitiert, welche bereits wenige Tage postoperativ, völlig beschwerdefrei war. Wenn auch unwahrscheinlich, so kann in unserem Fall differentialdiagnostisch eine tumoröse Kalzinose nicht 100% ausgeschlossen werden.</p>
