        <p>Besonders ältere Menschen sind sturzgefährdet. Laut der Schweizerischen Gesundheitsbefragung aus dem Jahr 2017 sind es je nach Region zwischen 18% und 30% aller über 65-jährigen Personen, die angaben, mindestens einen Sturz im Laufe von 12 Monaten gehabt zu haben. Folge sind oftmals Spitalaufenthalte oder die Notwendigkeit in ein Alters- oder Pflegeheim einzutreten [1]. Umso wichtiger ist es gerade in diesen Patientengruppen eine reversible Ursache herauszufinden. Eine umfassende Anamnese ist deshalb von herausragender diagnostischer Wichtigkeit. Gelegentlich können Anamnese, körperliche Untersuchung und ein 12-Kanal-EKG bereits Hinweise für eine rhythmogene Ursache der Stürze geben. In diesem Fallbericht ist ein paroxysmaler kompletter AVBlock bei alternierendem Schenkelblock die Ursache der Sturzereignisse. Trotz mehrfacher Befragung berichtete die Patientin nie eine Synkope gehabt zu haben. Erst nach wiederholtem Nachfragen während der Hospitalisation gab sie dann an, Lichtsensationen und Lichtblitze verschiedener Farben gehabt zu haben, nicht jedoch Synkopen.</p>
