        <p>Die akute Extremitätenischämie ist als eine plötzlich herabgesetzte arterielle Perfusion einer Gliedmasse definiert, welches eine vitale Bedrohung für die Extremität und den Patienten bedeutet und somit ein medizinischer Notfall ist. Eine rasche Revaskularisation ist meist unumgänglich. Für die weitere Therapie steht die Abklärung der Aetiologie im Vordergrund. Bei einer Minderheit der Patienten bleibt die Aetiologie der Beinischämie ungeklärt (bei fehlenden kardiovaskulären Risikofaktoren oder fehlendem Nachweis einer Emboliequelle). Eine im Rahmen eines Phäochromocytoms auftretende akute Beinischämie ist selten. Eine Assoziation zwischen einem Phäochromocytom und dem Auftreten von systemischen oder intrakardialen Thromben ist in der Fachliteratur beschrieben. Wir berichten über einen Patienten mit atypischem embolischen Verschluss der A. poplitea und gleichzeitiger Diagnose eines Phäochromocytoms sowie deren Zusammenhang.</p>
