      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">
        <p>L'hypoglycémie non diabétique se caractérise par une valeur de glucose plasmatique &lt; 3 mmol/l (&lt; 54 mg/dl) associée à des symptômes neuroglycopéniques qui disparaissent après la prise de sucre (triade de Whipple). En ambulatoire, une suspicion d'hypoglycémie chez un sujet non diabétique doit conduire à une anamnèse détaillée, à un examen physique ciblée et à la mesure d'HbA1c et du glucose plasmatique. Une fois que la suspicion d'hypoglycémie semble se confirmer chez un individu « apparemment sain », le test de jeûne planifié sur 72 heures est l'examen de référence pour corroborer cette condition. Ce test peut aussi apporter des informations pour distinguer l'origine endogène ou exogène d'un hyperinsulinisme. Dans cet article orienté à la pratique de la médecine générale ambulatoire, les différentes étiologies des hypoglycémies non diabétiques sont présentées ainsi que l'utilité diagnostique du test du jeûne.</p>
