      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">
        <p>Eine bis anhin gesunde 38-jährige Frau machte einen vermeintlich harmlosen grippalen Infekt durch, stellte allerdings in der Folge vermehrtes Zahnfleischbluten und Petechien an den Beinen fest. Im Labor wurde eine ausgeprägte Thrombozytopenie (3 G/l) festgestellt, nebenbefundlich aber auch erhöhte Transaminasen sowie atypische Lymphozyten. Letztendlich konnte eine ITP diagnostiziert werden, die erwähnten anderen Auffälligkeiten im Labor waren hinweisend für einen viralen Infekt als Trigger. Serologisch konnte ein CMV-Primoinfekt diagnostiziert werden. CMV-Primoinfekte sind vor allem bei Kindern als mögliche Auslöser einer ITP beschrieben. Dies ist insofern von Bedeutung, als dass die für die ITP notwendige immunsuppressive Behandlung zu einer vermehrten CMV-Replikation führen kann. Diese kann eine therapierefraktäre ITP zur Folge haben, welche eine antivirale Behandlung notwendig macht.</p>
