      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="de">
        <p>Die schwangerschafts- und laktationsassoziierte Osteoporose ( "pregnancy and lactation associated osteoporosis" (PLO) ) ist eine seltene Erkrankung, die sich durch Frakturen besonders im Bereich der Wirbelsäule und der Hüften manifestiert. Sie tritt mehrheitlich während des letzten Trimenons der Schwangerschaft und der postpartalen Phase auf. Die Inzidenz dieser Form der sekundären Osteoporose wird unterschätzt. Becken- und Rückenschmerzen treten bei weit über der Hälfte der Schwangerschaften auf; die Selektion der Patientinnen, die sich für weitere Abklärungen qualifizieren, stellt eine Herausforderung dar. Eine frühe Diagnosestellung und Einleitung einer adäquaten Therapie sind bei diesen jungen Patientinnen jedoch besonders wichtig . Wir berichten über eine Patientin mit peri- und postpartalen Rückenschmerzen, bei der erst nach mehreren ambulanten Konsultationen multiple Kompressionsfrakturen der Wirbelsäule festgestellt wurden. Die durchgeführten Abklärungen liessen auf eine PLO schliessen.</p>
