      <abstract abstract-type="article" xml:lang="fr">&lt;p&gt;La sciatique est une irritation du nerf qui est g&amp;eacute;n&amp;eacute;ralement d&amp;#39;origine discale ou intrarachidienne. La sciatique extra-rachidienne est un diagnostic rare, &amp;agrave; &amp;eacute;voquer devant toute sciatique sans origine intra-rachidienne claire &amp;agrave; l&amp;#39;imagerie. L&amp;rsquo;anamn&amp;egrave;se et l&amp;rsquo;examen clinique doivent &amp;eacute;valuer toute la longueur du nerf afin de mieux cibler les investigations compl&amp;eacute;mentaires. Les &amp;eacute;tiologies de la sciatique extra-rachidienne sont multiples et vari&amp;eacute;s et leur mise en &amp;eacute;vidence peut &amp;ecirc;tre un &amp;eacute;norme d&amp;eacute;fi vu que leur origine peut se trouver n&amp;rsquo;importe o&amp;ugrave; sur le trajet du nerf sciatique. N&amp;eacute;anmoins, on peut citer les pathologies gyn&amp;eacute;cologiques et le syndrome du muscle pyramidal comme origines les plus fr&amp;eacute;quentes et l&amp;#39;IRM du bassin ainsi que l&amp;#39;ENMG sont les examens para-cliniques les plus utiles.&lt;/p&gt;</abstract>
