<p>L'enseignement traditionnel de la médecine sous forme de cours ex cathedra, caractérisé par un flux unidirectionnel d'information, ne stimule que peu l'apprentissage et la rétention de la matière enseignée. L'apprentissage digital (e-learning), s'il ne se limite pas à la mise à disposition de documents de cours statiques sur une plateforme, peut apporter une solution car il favorise l'apprentissage et la rétention en impliquant et les étudiants (dans des activités en ligne ciblées et interactives) et les enseignants (par la création ou l'adoption de telles activités et par des interactions suivies avec les étudiants). Cette brève revue, fruit de l'expérience de HSeT (Health Science eTraining), une fondation privée à but non lucratif, décrit des exemples d'apprentissage digital réalisés en Suisse tant au niveau pré- que postgradué. Le potentiel de développement est considérable. La création d’un site suisse d’enseignement digital offrant des objectifs d’apprentissage communs et des critères d’évaluation identiques pour tous les étudiants en médecine permettrait, à terme, une meilleure formation et rendrait leur mobilité entre Universités à nouveau possible. La formation post-grade et continue des médecins et chercheurs dans le domaine biomédical peut déjà grandement bénéficier de ce type d’enseignement.</p>
