    <curatorial-note>TODO (garrity): RFO Yabuuchi et al. 1999 (rid.4631) transferred Blastomonas natatoria and Erythromonas ursincola (the type and only species in their genera at the time) into the genus Sphingomonas. This unified the genera Blastomonas and Erythromonas with Sphingomonas.

Hiraishi et al. 2000 (rid.4321) basically undo the taxonomic changes made by Yabuuchi et al. 1999. They retain the genus Blastomonas, transfer E. ursincola to Blastomoas as B. ursincola and give an emended description of B. natatoria. Recently, a novel species of Blastomonas was described, further complicating the problem.

The outstanding questions are:
1. What is the status of Blastomonas?
2. To which genus is Erythromonas unified?
3. What is the status of the species with the epithet ursincola?
4. What is the status of the new species of Blastomonas?

For now, I've recorded the 1999 unification and marked it as ignored, since the public consensus is that it was revered. However, we need an opinion on this.</curatorial-note>
