    <public-note>The basonym for this name is Pelodictyon clathratiforme, however the type strain DSM 5477 comes from Pelodictyon phaeoclathratiforme because (as Imhoff 2003 states) Pelodictyon clathratiforme lacks a type culture and the 16S sequence is almost identical to Pelodictyon phaeoclathratiforme.</public-note>
