Abstract
Various physical-chemical treatment methodologies were evaluated for treating over 76,000 acre feet of acid mine water at the Tar Creek Superfund site in Northeastern Oklahoma. Chemical precipitation, chemical precipitation with polymer addition, activated carbon, and ion exchange were used to reduce levels of iron, zinc, cadmium, and lead to acceptable levels.
