Abstract
The authors examine the use of impasse procedures by New York teacher associations and school districts in the first five years (1968-72) of New York's Taylor Law to determine how the procedures affected salary settlements. It was concluded that higher salaries resulted and that overreliance on the impasse procedures was shown. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License.
