Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 8 in 1982. The species Pseudocaedibacter conjugatus was originally described by Preer et al. 1974. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1978 the name was revived by Quackenbush. This name replaces the name Preer et al. 1974 .
