Nomenclatural History

This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 8 in 1982. The species Pseudocaedibacter falsus was originally described by Preer et al. 1974. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1978 the name was revived by Quackenbush. Quackenbush formed this name in 1978 by placing the species
Caedobacter falsus Preer et al. 1974
into the genus Pseudocaedibacter Quackenbush 1982.
