Nomenclatural History
The species Hyphomonas polymorpha was originally described by Pongratz 1957. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Moore et al.. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020.
