Nomenclatural History
The species Stappia stellulata was originally described by Uchino et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 68 in 1999. Biebl et al. published an emended description of this species in 2007. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020. Uchino et al. formed this name in 1998 by placing the species (ex Stapp and Knösel 1954) Rüger and Höfle 1992 into the genus Uchino et al. 1999 emend. Biebl et al. 2007.
