Nomenclatural History	The species Sphingomonas echinoides was originally described and validly published by Denner et al. 1999. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Denner et al. formed this name in 1999 by placing the species Pseudomonas echinoides Heumann 1962 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Sphingomonas Yabuuchi et al. 1990 emend. Feng et al. 2017.
