Nomenclatural History
|
The species Sphingomonas macrogoltabidus was originally described by Takeuchi et al. 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 47 in 1993. Yabuuchi corrected this name from Sphingomonas macrogoltabidus (sic) to Sphingomonas macrogolitabida . In 2001, Takeuchi et al. established Sphingomonas macrogoltabidus as the basonym of
Sphingopyxis macrogoltabida (Takeuchi et al. 1993) Takeuchi et al. 2001 emend. Hördt et al. 2020
.
Yabuuchi 2002 corrected Sphingomonas macrogolitabidus to Sphingomonas macrogolitabida. This correction is illegitimate based on Rule 61. The original name Sphingomonas macrogolitabidus remains the correct name and the corrected name Sphingomonas macrogolitabida is illegitimate.
