Nomenclatural History
The species Novosphingobium subarcticum was originally described and validly published by Takeuchi et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Takeuchi et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species Nohynek et al. 1996 into the genus Takeuchi et al. 2001. Lim et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Delaporte and Daste 1956) Lim et al. 2007 in 2007.
