Nomenclatural History

The species Rhizomonas suberifaciens was originally described and validly published by van Bruggen et al. 1990. In 1999, Yabuuchi et al. established Rhizomonas suberifaciens as the basonym of
Sphingomonas suberifaciens (van Bruggen et al. 1990) Yabuuchi et al. 1999
.
The genus is illegitimate as it is a later homonym of a protozoan name, therefore this species name is also illegitimate.
