Nomenclatural History
The genus Caulobacter was originally proposed by Henrici and Johnson 1935. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Poindexter published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Abraham et al. in 1999.
