Nomenclatural History
The species Caulobacter crescentus was originally described by Poindexter 1964. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Abraham et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of Henrici and Johnson 1935 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hördt et al. 2020 in 1999.
