Nomenclatural History
The species Rhizobium leguminosarum was originally described by Frank 1889. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 34 in 1970. Ramírez-Bahena et al. published an emended description of this species in 2008. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Hördt et al. in 2020. Ramírez-Bahena et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Dangeard 1926 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2008.
