Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Agrobacterium was originally proposed by Conn 1942. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum conservanda by Judicial Opinion 33 in 1970. Allen and Holding published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Sawada et al. in 1993. Young et al. transferred the members of this genus into
Rhizobium Frank 1889 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Young et al. 2001
in 2001.
